Motorola Shadow HDMI and OMAP3630 CPU confirmed in new leak

It looks like it’s the week for Motorola Shadow leaks; after being purportedly left in a gym yesterday, the Android handset destined for Verizon’s network has been snapped again, this time showing off its side-mounted HDMI connectivity. The photo is the handiwork of HowardForums member wnrussell, who confirms the 4.1-inch touchscreen display and 8-megapixel camera.

He also claims the Shadow has 8GB of internal storage, augmented by a microSD card slot. As for the processor, that’s a 700MHz OMAP3630, so a little slower than what we’re used to from some big-screen Android flagships, but also a little faster than the Motorola DROID.

In terms of hand-feel, wnrussell reckons the Shadow is lighter than the DROID, likely a result of them dropping the hardware QWERTY keyboard and all the necessary slide-mechanism around it. Still no official word on a release, but we’ve previously heard talk of a launch as soon as June or July.

This eco-friendly handset also uses a recycled PET screen cover, LED battery indicators and rubber to reduce the e-waste and improve the environment. LG Vu Plus Hits AT&T On June 6th, 2010

That’s right! AT&T subscribers will be able to purchase LG’s Vu Plus handset on June 6th, 2010 for $149.99 (Pay $199.99 and after mail-in rebate receive $50 AT&T Promotion Card. The new handset supports a 7.2Mbps HSDPA, a four-row QWERTY slide-out keyboard, a 3-inch capacitive touchscreen with 400 x 240 resolution and a 3-megapixel digital camera. Orange is ready to launch two new own-branded phones namely the Orange Lisbon and Orange Rio. The Orange Lisbon is an entry level full-touch phone that features 2G connectivity, an MP3 player, an FM radio, Bluetooth, a USB, a 1.3MP camera, a MicroSD card support, and a battery that provides up to 3-hour of talk time. iPhone OS 4.0 Beta 3 Adds Some Interesting Features

Apple has released the latest version of its iPhone OS 4.0 to developers, iPhone OS 4.0 Beta 3, and a number of new features have been uncovered in the latest version.

One of the most interesting features in iPhone OS 4.0 Beta 3 is File Sharing, which means you will be able to transfer files from your iPhone directly to your computer.

The file sharing feature will allow you to drag files from your iPhone to your computer, and from your computer to your iPhone, although there are no details on whether this will be in the final build it certainly would be a useful feature to have.

Another new feature is media player widgets, which is a new set of icons that control the iPod application when you are running applications in multitasking mode.

Also the process for shutting down applications in multitasking mode seems to have been made a lot easier to use, all you have to do now is press and hold the application you want to close, and you will then be given the option to close that application as well as others.

Another new feature is orientation lock, which will let you lock your iPhones orientation meaning it wont change when you flip your phone, and this is also in the multitasking interface.

The more we see of the iPhone OS 4.0, the more we are impressed with it, we suspect that the next version along of the iPhone OS along with the iPhone 4G will keep Apple ahead in the smartphone market.

Microsoft Kin One and Two now with prices, specs and release date

The Kin One and Two QWERTY phones by Microsoft have been announced for their prices along with their release date and specs. The two phones will be arriving at Verizon this month, with 2-year contract prices of $49.99 and $99.99 after the mail-in rebate.

The rebate will come in the form of a debit card, which can be used anywhere that accepts debit cards. The exact dates of the two phones to get on Verizon are: they’ll appear at verizonwireless.com on May 6th and in Verizon’s store on May 13th.

For those who’ll be headed for a data plan, it’ll cost $39.99 for the voice, and $29.99 for the data which means it runs you $70 a month. And this will total up as $1680 within the 2-year contract period. The two phones are great for heavy texters and those who love to be always connected on social networking sites. Chinese iPhone approved with WAPI WiFi

You might not be aware of this but the official Chinese iPhone offered by China Unicom since October 2009 doesn't include WiFi -- part of the reason for a continued Chinese grey market for iPhones sourced from neighboring countries. Now we're seeing a China-approved 3G / GSM / Bluetooth device from Apple capable of using China's homegrown WAPI (WLAN Authentication and Privacy Infrastructure) protocol. The new device -- presumably a 4th generation iPhone -- will join Dell's Mini 3i as one of a few foreign handsets to feature the Chinese national standard for WLAN. Update: The reference to "A1303" in the chinese language filing means this is likely a WAPI version of the iPhone 3GS, not a 4th gen device.

Vodafone 247 Phone Is Solar Powered

Vodafone UK subscribers might be more worried about the lack of Nexus One units to go around, but if you’re looking for something special in the bargain bin, it’s certainly worth taking note that the Vodafone 247 has been unveiled as well, hot on the heels of the Vodafone 845. Since the 247 is positioned at the carrier’s ultra low cost handset (ULHC) range, it doesn’t offer any groundbreaking functions, but it does offer a solar panel at the back, which is something you rarely see in any phone, regardless of whether it’s a high end or low end device. Thanks to its solar panel, this might actually be an ideal phone to take with you on those extended camping trips. There isn’t any price of availability date, but hopefully it won’t be too long before it’s offered at retailers.
