Rumor: Toshiba Working on World’s Lightest 13-inch Notebook

When it comes to notebooks, I want one that is light, has great battery life, and offers performance. Those things aren’t typically available in one machine since most lightweight ultraportables use slower processors to save battery life. A new rumor is going around about a Toshiba notebook that packs in all three of my desires.

The notebook is said to be the world’s lightest 13-inch machine with a weight of under 1kg when paired with a 512GB SSD. The rig is also said to sport a 16:9 aspect ratio screen and 4GB of RAM. CPU options are normal Intel Core i3, i5, and i7 units, no CULV CPUs here.

The most interesting part of the rumor is that the machine is pegged to have SCiB battery technology. This battery tech allows the battery to be recharged to 90% capacity in only ten minutes connected to an outlet. Pricing and availability are unknown.
