VIDEO: New iPad 3G Gets Nuked Inside Microwave

The iPad is not microwavable.

The launch of the iPad 3G wasn't as hyped as the launch of the original WiFi version but a lot of people rushed out to buy one on Friday afternoon. What all those people did with their new devices when they got it home, we don't know. We do know that at least one new iPad owner took his tablet home and threw it in the microwave.

t's a 64GB 3G model so you're looking at over $829 just to make a piece of art called the eyePad. Still, it's fun to watch. The audio for this video isn't exactly important and the whole process is kind of slow but it's worth it for the fire at the end. After he was done nuking it, artist Kenny Irwin encased the gadget's remains, along with a fake eyeball, in museum quality resin and listed it on eBay. The listing has ended but the place holder page shows that the reserve was not met. The final bid was $132.49. [video/source]
